Hilmi Sözer (born March 9, 1970, in Çubuk, Ankara) is a German-Turkish actor and comedian. Hilmi Sözer grew up in the Lower Rhine region and first became involved in acting through theater projects while he was still in school. Without formal acting training, he subsequently found his way into film, rising to prominence in the 1990s—primarily through his appearances in the comedies *Voll normaaal* and *Ballermann 6*, alongside Tom Gerhardt. He also achieved widespread popularity with his role in Michael "Bully" Herbig's cinematic hit *Der Schuh des Manitu*, for which he received an award. In addition to comedy productions, Sözer has appeared in more serious film and television roles, including Lars Becker's *Kanak Attack*, the award-winning TV comedy *Meine verrückte türkische Hochzeit*, and Christian Petzold's drama *Jerichow*, which screened at the 2008 Venice International Film Festival. Furthermore, he has regularly performed on stage, including at the Altonaer Theater in Hamburg. In 2011, he appeared in both the comedy *Die Superbullen* and in the lead role of the television film *Das Ende einer Maus ist der Anfang einer Katze*.

Hilmi Sözer (* 9. März 1970 in Çubuk, Ankara) ist ein deutsch-türkischer Schauspieler und Komiker. Hilmi Sözer wuchs am Niederrhein auf und kam bereits während seiner Schulzeit durch Theaterprojekte erstmals mit der Schauspielerei in Berührung. Ohne klassische Schauspielausbildung fand er anschließend den Weg zum Film und wurde in den 1990er-Jahren vor allem durch seine Auftritte in den Komödien Voll normaaal und Ballermann 6 an der Seite von Tom Gerhardt bekannt. Große Popularität erreichte er zudem mit seiner Rolle in Michael Bully Herbigs Kinohit Der Schuh des Manitu, für den er ausgezeichnet wurde. Neben Comedyproduktionen war Sözer auch in ernsteren Film- und Fernsehrollen zu sehen, darunter in Lars Beckers Kanak Attack, der preisgekrönten Fernsehkomödie Meine verrückte türkische Hochzeit sowie in Christian Petzolds Drama Jerichow, das 2008 bei den Internationalen Filmfestspielen von Venedig gezeigt wurde. Darüber hinaus stand er regelmäßig auf der Theaterbühne, unter anderem am Altonaer Theater in Hamburg. 2011 spielte er sowohl in der Komödie Die Superbullen als auch in der Hauptrolle des Fernsehfilms Das Ende einer Maus ist der Anfang einer Katze.
