Amanda Joy Michalka (born April 10, 1991) is an American actress, voice actress, singer, and musician. She is best known as one half of the musical duo Aly & AJ (briefly 78violet), alongside her sister Aly Michalka. She has appeared in films such as The Lovely Bones (2008), Secretariat (2010), Super 8 (2011), Grace Unplugged (2013), Weepah Way for Now (2015), and Support the Girls (2018). Michalka also starred in the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs (2013–present) and its spin-off series Schooled (2019–2020). She is also known for voicing a lead role as Catra in the Netflix animated adventure series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018–2020). Elle a commencé à prendre des cours de comédie à l'âge de 9 ans. En attendant d'être connue grâce au cinéma, elle a été top model, prêtant son image pour des photos de grands magazines. Puis vient le moment de passer des auditions, qu'elle réussit du premier coup, c'est alors qu'elle décroche des contrats pour de grandes chaînes telles que FOX, CBS, HBO et NBC. Vient alors la série The Guardian qui l'a fait connaître de tous grâce au rôle de Shannon Gressler. Amanda est, tout comme sa sœur Alyson Michalka, chanteuse et musicienne et compositeur. Elle a fondé, avec sa sœur, le groupe Aly & AJ dont le premier album, Into the Rush, est sorti en 2005. En 2010, elles changent le nom de leur groupe et le baptisent « 78violet ». Depuis octobre 2013, elle est la compagne de l'acteur Keenan Tracey.
