Julianne Hough (born 20 July 1988, Salt Lake City, Utah) is an American actress, dancer, singer, and television host. The youngest of five children in a Mormon family, she began competitive ballroom dancing at age 9 and trained in London as a teenager, where she made her uncredited film debut as a Hogwarts schoolgirl in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001). She won Dancing with the Stars twice (2008, 2014), released a self-titled country album that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Album chart, and served as a judge on Dancing with the Stars (2014–2017) and America's Got Talent (2018). In 2022 she took to Broadway in Selina Fillinger's POTUS, and in late 2025 she and her brother Derek Hough launched Ovation, a touring dance convention. Her acting filmography includes Burlesque (2010, as Georgia), Footloose (2011, as Ariel Moore), Rock of Ages (2012, as Sherrie Christian), Safe Haven (2013, as Katie Feldman), Paradise (2013, as Lamb Mannerheim), Curve (2015), Dirty Grandpa (2016, as Meredith Goldstein), and Bigger (2018, as Betty Weider, with Robert Pattinson). On television she appeared in Grease Live! (2016), Dolly Parton's Heartstrings (2019, as Jolene), and Royalties (2020, as Gabriella Lamboni). Her most recent film credit is a dual role as Iris / Jinx in The Bride! (2026, with Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley), marking her return to feature film after an eight-year hiatus.
