Jörn Großhans is a visual effects supervisor at TRIXTER. Großhans began his journey into the world of visual effects after studying audiovisual media in Stuttgart, Germany, at the Hochschule der Medien, earning his qualification over a period from September 2002 to October 2007. He entered the VFX industry in 2004, initially working as a generalist before moving into compositing and eventually rising to the role of visual effects supervisor. His early professional experience included positions at Pixomondo, the studio behind notable film and TV effects, where he started building his reputation in high-profile projects. From around April 2008 to May 2013, Großhans served as a VFX supervisor at Mackevision Medien Design GmbH. During that time, his work earned significant recognition. Notably, he played a key role in Mackevision's visual effects contributions to Game of Thrones (2011), helping secure the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Special and Visual Effects in 2014, particularly for the episode "The Children," which he supervised along with VFX Producer Katharina Kessler and a team of over 40 artists. His involvement in the third season also brought recognition—Mackevision's work on episode "Valar Dohaeris" contributed to that year's honours. Following his tenure at Mackevision, from mid-2013 to late 2017, Großhans worked as a VFX supervisor at LAVAlabs Moving Images GmbH. In early 2018, he joined Image Engine for a brief period before transferring to Trixter Film GmbH, where he has been serving as a visual effects supervisor since approximately June 2021. Image Engine, known for its work on major feature films, credited him with Emmy- and VES Award-winning contributions and described him in May 2018 as having 14 years of experience in the industry. Beyond his television achievements, Großhans has contributed to major cinematic productions. His credits include The Losers (2010) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). On Star Trek Into Darkness, he held the title of division visual effects supervisor for Pixomondo, one of the many contributing VFX companies on the film.
