Samantha Avila is an art director working across the film and TV multiverse. Avila envisioned gallivanting beside her favourite characters from books and movies through time, space, and reality. Across the years, she has nurtured her devotion to design through a masterful cocktail of theatrical scenic painting, architecture, and filmmaking studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Avila pulls from this vast landscape of information and disciplines to sculpt each set she navigates into its final character on screen. With the vital collaboration of skilled artisans, she takes pride in creating sets of all shapes and sizes alongside them every day. At her core, Avila is always seeking the next great adventure. She currently lives out her dreams sailing the seas with pirates, hunting with dinosaurs, revolting with robots, and conjuring magic with wizards. Additional credits include Hotel Artemis, A Wrinkle in Time, Independence Day: Resurgence, and The Finest Hours. Avila currently lives in Los Angeles, travels the world, and explores the outdoors with her adventure cat, Bowen. Her latest work is Guardians of the Galaxy: Holiday Special and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 3. Upcoming credits include Superman: Legacy.
