Akiva J. Goldsman (born July 7, 1962) is an American screenwriter and producer in the motion picture industry. He received an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for the 2001 film, A Beautiful Mind, which also won the Oscar for Best Picture. Goldsman has been involved specifically with Hollywood films. His filmography includes the films A Beautiful Mind, I am Legend and Cinderella Man, as well as more serious dramas, and numerous rewrites both credited and uncredited. In 2006 Goldsman re-teamed with A Beautiful Mind director Ron Howard for a high profile project, adapting Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code for Howard's much-anticipated film version, receiving mixed reviews for his work. Goldsman currently directs and writes many episodes of the JJ Abrams produced science fiction drama Fringe. Akiva Goldsman (* 7. Juli 1962 in New York City) ist ein US-amerikanischer Drehbuchautor und Filmproduzent und erhielt 2002 den Oscar und den Golden Globe für das beste adaptierte Drehbuch von A Beautiful Mind – Genie und Wahnsinn. Zudem gewann er für diesen Film einen WGA Award. Als Ausführender Produzent war Goldsman an den bisher drei Fortsetzungen zu Paranormal Activity (2007) beteiligt. Im Jahr 2009 gab er sein Debüt als Regisseur und inszenierte eine Folge der Serie Kings sowie mehrere von Fringe – Grenzfälle des FBI. Mit Winter’s Tale drehte er 2014 seinen ersten Spielfilm.
