An English actor who is best known for his role as Anthony Hope in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, his role of Caius in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and his role of King Arthur in the Starz original series Camelot. He also appeared as the young Gellert Grindelwald in the two-part Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and will play Jace Wayland in the upcoming film adaption of the Mortal Instruments (series). James Metcalfe Campbell Bower, né le 22 novembre 1988 à Londres en Angleterre, est un acteur, chanteur et mannequin britannique. Il est le fils de Anne Elizabeth (née Roseberry), une manager de musique, et de David Bower qui travaille pour la Gibson Guitar Corporation. Son 4e grand-père maternel était Sir John Campbell, de Airds, lieutenant-gouverneur de Saint-Vincent-et-les-Grenadines. Il a un frère Sam Bower, un guitariste. Il a assisté à l'école Bedales, une co-éducation école indépendante dans le Hampshire et est un ancien membre du National Youth Music Theatre et le National Théâtre de la jeunesse. Il s'est fait connaître en 2007 par son rôle d'Anthony dans Sweeney Todd : Le Diabolique Barbier de Fleet Street de Tim Burton avant de figurer plus tard au casting de deux séries de films à succès : Twilight (dans le rôle de Caius) et Harry Potter dans le rôle du jeune Gellert Grindelwald. En 2022, il prend le rôle de Vecna comme principal antagoniste de la quatrième saison de la série télévisée Stranger Things.
