A recently released sex offender is accused of kidnapping a child, and with time running out, Det. Gabriel beats a confession out of him. Deputy Chief Johnson must deal with Gabriel and also get the pedophile to re-confess.

Une petite fille disparaît en rentrant de l'école. Ses parents, abattus par l'angoisse, répètent qu'ils lui ont toujours recommandé de ne pas se laisser approcher par un inconnu. Toute l'unité des Enquêtes Prioritaires, y compris le FBI, sont sur les dents pour entamer cette course contre la montre avant que le soir ne tombe. Une camionnette est repérée sur des télés de contrôle, un vêtement est retrouvé, d'autres traces mèneront à un suspect. Comment Brenda fera-t-elle pour lui faire avouer l'inavouable ? In una vera e propria corsa contro il tempo, Brenda ed il suo team cercano una ragazzina di 8 anni che è scomparsa mentre stava tornando a casa da scuola. Un uomo, appena rilasciato dalla prigione, è sospettato del sequestro. Mentre si concentra sul predatore sessuale, Gabriel mette in atto un'azione drastica allo scopo di risolvere il caso.
