L'agence tous risques qui, sur les ordres du général Stockwell, s'empare d'un avion chasseur, fleuron de la flotte aérienne russe, apprend peu après que le général a été kidnappé à l'issue d'une entrevue avec l'agent secret Ivan Tregorin. Un compte à rebours commence pour l'équipe qui n'a que 36 heures pour retrouver le général.
