In this thrilling season finale, the loss of one of their own is the first hit the lab will take. Getting back to the lab to process the evidence, they find it has been taken over by Federal Agents looking for stolen money from a previous case.

Les membres du gang de la Mala Noche se prélassent au bord d'une piscine lorsqu'un mystérieux tireur fait irruption, tuant cinq d'entre eux. Horatio et son équipe, arrivés sur les lieux, y cherchent en vain le corps d'Antonio Riaz, celui qui a ordonné la mort de Marisol. Un piège à la grenade coûte la vie au sergent Jessop qui inspectait la villa. De retour au laboratoire, l'équipe affronte des agents fédéraux venus enquêter sur la disparition d'une partie de l'argent saisi lors d'une précédente intervention contre la Mala Noche. Les agents Perry, Cole et Landrey mettent tour à tour sur la sellette chacun des experts, n'hésitant pas à réactiver certains drames personnels, mais sans rien trouver de probant contre eux...
