In the first of a two part episode, Horatio once again has to tangle with his ex, Julia, who has it out for him. Someone is out for Calleigh, and is compromising their investigation in the process.

Horatio wird bei seinen Ermittlungen erneut mit seiner Ex-Frau Julia konfrontiert. Offenbar hatte dieser einer getöteten Frau eine Million Dollar gegeben, damit sie nicht gegen ihren und Horatios Sohn Kyle aussagt.

Deux adolescents partent pêcher et jettent de la dynamite à l'eau, afin de remonter du poisson plus facilement. Soudain, lors de la deuxième explosion, un bras remonte à la surface des flots. L'un des deux adolescents se jette à l'eau et aperçoit au fond de la rivière, une carcasse de voiture... A l'intérieur, il découvre le cadavre d'une femme bâillonnée, les mains solidement attachées au volant du véhicule avec du ruban adhésif...Une fois la voiture sortie hors de l'eau, les experts procèdent à l'identification de la victime : il s'agit de Kathleen Newberry, une jeune femme qui avait témoigné contre Kyle lors de son enlèvement.
