When Earl finds out that the Warden has destroyed all the certificates that would grant him early release from prison, he seeks the help of his friends to escape.

Direktor Hazlewood zeigt sich von seiner unangenehmen Seite und vernichtet sämtliche Hafterlass-Gutscheine Earls, weil er ihn auch weiterhin als willigen Erfüllungsgehilfen im Gefängnis braucht. Das ist eine echte Katastrophe für Earl. Doch als er berechtigterweise aufmüpfig wird, steckt ihn der Direktor nur gnadenlos in die Einzelzelle. Dort wird Earl schnell klar, dass er nur eine einzige realistische Chance hat, um vorzeitig aus dem Knast zu kommen: die Flucht.
