The Enterprise encounters two duo-chromatic and mutually belligerent aliens who put the ship in the middle of their old conflict.

Die Enterprise nimmt den Humanoiden Lokai vom Planeten Cheron an Bord. Es handelt sich um einen schwarz-weißen Mutanten. Kurz darauf stellt Kirk fest, daß ein zweiter Mutant namens Bele auf unerklärliche Weise an Bord gekommen ist. Er verlangt, Lokais Auslieferung.

L'Enterprise intercepte une navette de la Fédération, volée sur la base 4. Son seul occupant est Lokai, qui déclare venir de la planète Cheron et demande l'asile politique. Peu de temps après, un second vaisseau intercepte l'Enterprise. À son bord, se trouve le commissionnaire Bele, de la planète Cheron, qui demande qu'on lui remette Lokai.
