Danny causes waves in the department when he investigates a closed case, the suicide of a firefighter, at the insistence of the man’s 12-year-old son. Meanwhile, Jamie saves a baby from a burning building but worries it will jeopardize his undercover work when he is billed a hero in the press.

Alors qu'il est en patrouille avec Renzulli, Jamie intervient sur un incendie qui s'est déclenché dans un immeuble et sauve de justesse un enfant des flammes, avant l'arrivée des pompiers. Son courage suscite aussitôt l'intérêt de la presse. Cette nouvelle inquiète Frank qui craint que la véritable identité de son fils ne soit révélée. De son côté, Danny enquête sur le prétendu suicide du père d'un des amis de son fils.
