When a knife-wielding attacker dressed as Baron Samedi, the Spirit of Death, stabs a man in costume on Halloween, Danny enters the world of voodoo. Meanwhile, DCPI Garrett opens up to Frank about a dark secret, and Erin and Nicky take Jack and Sean trick-or-treating.

Durant la nuit d'Halloween, Danny est appelé à se rendre sur une scène de crime peu ordinaire : un homme portant un habit de prêtre a été attaqué par un individu revêtu d'un costume de squelette. En prêtant main-forte à son collègue, l'inspecteur Kate Lansing, choisie pour être sa nouvelle partenaire, fait une découverte intéressante concernant la signification du déguisement de l'agresseur. Il s'agirait de la personnification du «Baron Samedi», autrement dit l'incarnation d'un esprit haïtien représentant la mort. Le suspect, identifié grâce aux vidéos de surveillance, parvient à prendre la fuite. De son côté, Frank doit faire face à un possible scandale impliquant un proche conseiller...
