After a marine widow receives a call from her dead husband, the NCIS team takes on the case and has to exhume the body to deduce whether the call was a prank or not.

Auf der Trauerfeier ihres Mannes erhält Sarah Kidwell einen Anruf von ihrem toten Gatten. Um herauszufinden, wer hinter diesen Anrufen steckt, muss das NCIS-Team die Leiche des tot geglaubten Marines exhumieren und stellt dabei fest, dass er bei seiner Einbalsamierung noch am Leben war.
