Goldgräber Charlie flüchtet sich vor einem Schneesturm in die Hütte von Black Larsen, in der auch Big Jim, der gerade Gold gefunden hat, erscheint. Black Larsen verläßt die beiden, um Nahrung zu suchen, kehrt jedoch nicht zurück. Aus Verzweiflung kocht Charlie seinen eigenen Schuh, den er zusammen mit Big Jim verzehrt. Als der Sturm nachläßt, irrt Charlie umher, beobachtet in einem Dorf eine tanzende Gesellschaft und verliebt sich in die Sängerin Georgia. Später beutet er zusammen mit Big Jim dessen Goldmine aus, wodurch die beiden reich werden und Charlie schließlich Georgia heiraten kann.
