The fifth season ends with Howard and Bernadette deciding to get married before his NASA mission, causing the gang to scurry into overdrive in an effort to stage the wedding. NASA astronaut Mike Massimino has a cameo as himself.

Décidée à épouser Howard avant que ce dernier ne file dans l'espace, Bernadette organise un mariage en quatrième vitesse. Et si la mairie ne peut accueillir leur cérémonie, qu'à cela ne tienne : elle est organisée sur le toit de l'immeuble de Sheldon et Leonard, qui officient lors de ce mariage. Un peu plus tard, Howard est à bord de la navette, prête à décoller. Alors que ses deux compagnons d'aventure spatiale sont d'une décontraction désarmante, Wolowitz, lui, tout en essayant d'afficher un peu d'assurance, est tout simplement au bord de l'explosion de panique. Dans le salon, face à la télévision le groupe assiste médusé à la mise sur orbite d'Howard !
