At a swanky fundraiser, attended by the sheriff, a woman turns up dead in the pool. The owner of the house is away and a young couple is housesitting. Warrick looks into an apparent professional hit in the glass elevator of one of the hotels.

L'équipe de Grissom intervient sur les lieux d'un crime. Le corps d'une femme a été découvert flottant dans la piscine d'une célèbre danseuse de cabaret. Celle-ci, qui est actuellement en croisière, est aussitôt mise hors de cause. Les enquêteurs soupçonnent un couple de ne pas être étranger à l'affaire. Bientôt, ce n'est plus un meurtre, mais deux qui font l'objet de toute leur attention. Sans beaucoup d'indices, les agents de la police scientifique tentent néanmoins d'éclaircir cet imbroglio criminel. Grâce aux analyses des pièces recueillies sur les scènes de meurtres, une piste se dégage. Il faut encore passer des soupçons aux certitudes...
