When a man's dead body turns up naked in the bed of Doc Robbins' wife, the detectives try to "just work the scene" without bringing their pre-judgments to the table, but it sure looks like a case of Death During Adultery.

Judy, l'épouse de Al Robbins, le médecin légiste des experts appelle la police pour signaler que le cadavre d'un homme nu repose dans son lit conjugal. Jim Brass arrive sur place et constate que Judy connaissait le défunt : il s'agit de Dan Taxler, célèbre généalogiste, à qui elle avait fait appel. Madame Robbins explique qu'elle était en train de discuter avec lui lorsqu'elle a dû s'absenter pour répondre au téléphone. En revenant, il avait disparu. Ce n'est que plus tard qu'elle l'a retrouvé. Malgré ses déclarations, tout porte à croire qu'ils étaient amants. Mais les experts travaillent d'arrache-pied pour prouver le contraire...
