An elderly woman crashes her car into a crowded restaurant. One of the patrons is Sara's paramedic boyfriend. Grissom and Nick investigate the possible carbon monoxide murder of a woman in her home.

Les enquêteurs sont à nouveau confrontés à une affaire délicate. Une octogénaire a perdu le contrôle de sa voiture et s'est encastrée dans la vitrine d'un restaurant bondé, faisant trois morts et plusieurs blessés. Le petit ami de Sara, un auxiliaire médical, présent sur les lieux de l'accident, figure au nombre des blessés.
