After a man is murdered while taking pictures of the stars from his balcony, the squad suspects the crime is somehow connected to the woman with whom he was having an affair. But their investigation is hindered by a missing murder weapon, as well as the difficult adjustment of moving into a new office.

Au petit matin, un homme est retrouvé mort, il a été abattu d'une balle en pleine nuque sur le toit de sa maison. Steven Beebe, entrepreneur et passionné d'astronomie, avait pris l'habitude, vers quatre heures du main, de monter observer et prendre en photo les étoiles depuis son toit. Selon le médecin légiste, c'est à peu près l'heure vers laquelle il a été tué : l'assassin connaissait donc les habitudes de sa victime. Très vite, les soupçons de Brenda et son équipe se portent vers une femme qui entretenait une liaison avec Steven Beebe...
