Chief of Police Tommy Delk (guest star Courtney B. Vance) assigns Major Crimes a seemingly minor case involving the armed robbery of several medical marijuana dispensaries. But when one of the robberies turns into a murder, the case becomes a test of Brenda’s readiness to move up in the department.

Le chef de la police, Tommy Delk, décide de confier une nouvelle enquête à Brenda. Il la charge cependant d'une affaire mineure. En effet, une série de cambriolages a été signalée dans plusieurs dispensaires médicaux de Los Angeles. Fait troublant : chacun de ces établissements disposait d'un stock conséquent de marijuana. S'agit-il d'un hasard ? Brenda prend cette affaire a coeur, d'autant qu'elle semble a priori relativement simple. Jusqu'au jour où un nouveau braquage est commis. Dopo che alcuni dispensatori sanitari di marijuana per uso terapeutico sono stati alleggeriti del loro carico da parte di una banda di rapinatori, il capo Delk pensa di affidare l'indagine agli uomini della Crimini Maggiori. Il caso assume un nuovo contorno quando, nel corso di un'altra rapina, un uomo rimane ucciso. Brenda e i suoi colleghi debbono individuare quale sarà il prossimo negozio ad essere preso di mira. La Johnson viene inoltre a sapere che il posto di Pope è davvero in pericolo.
