Brenda's next case has her investigating the brutal murder of an actress who was dating through an online service, unfortunately the case takes a backseat because Brenda has an interview with the mayor for the next chief of police. Brenda still has second thoughts about whether she'd like the job.

Une jeune actrice, Judy Lynn, est retrouvée morte assassinée sur son lit. Une reconstitution du crime permet de comprendre rapidement qu'elle a été probablement assommée sur le mur de l'entrée avant d'être étouffée avec un coussin. Le médecin légiste indique qu'elle a eu un rapport sexuel avant de mourir. Lo svolgimento del caso è complicato dal fatto che la Johnson deve affrontare un colloquio con il sindaco per il ruolo di Capo della Polizia.
