When a CIA agent who worked with Sam Hanna over eight years ago seeks his help and is soon found dead of an apparent suicide, Hanna and Callen suspect foul play and a bigger conspiracy. Meanwhile, Deeks finds his inner “dog whisperer” with Kensi as the two go undercover and enter a dog show with a prized poodle.

Sam bekommt nachts einen Anruf und hört eine aufgezeichnete Nachricht von Frank Turner. Der ehemalige CIA-Agent bittet ihn darin um Hilfe. Als Sam und das Team in Turners Loft eintreffen, finden sie ihn tot von der Decke hängend. Weit und breit ist keine Leiter zu finden, dafür läuft ein riesengroßer Pudel mit Afrofrisur in der Wohnung herum. Was Sam aber noch weit mehr irritiert: Er kannte Turner nur oberflächlich und hatte ihn vor acht Jahren zuletzt gesehen.

Turner, un ancien co-équipier de Sam, l'appelle en pleine nuit pour qu'il lui vienne en aide. En arrivant sur le lieu de rendez-vous Callen et Sam le trouvent pendu à une corde. La victime était un agent hautement qualifié de la CIA. Chez lui, Eric, Sam et Callen découvrent de nombreux dossiers contenant des informations confidentielles sur des menaces terroristes.
