Jordan untersucht die Leiche eines älteren Mannes, der schon seit längerer Zeit unheilbar krank gewesen ist. Doch schon bald muss sie Detective Woodrow Hoyt zu dem scheinbaren Routinefall hinzuziehen, denn sie vermutet, dass jemand bei ihm Sterbehilfe geleistet hat.
