Der Unfalltod eines Obdachlosen führt Carrie und Al eher zufällig auf die Spur eines Gewaltverbrechens: Der bekannte Schönheitschirurg Dr. David Walton hatte sich nicht wie vermutet mit seiner Geliebten davon gestohlen, sondern war monatelang gefangen gehalten worden, bis man ihn schließlich ermordete. Wie sich bei den Ermittlungen herausstellt, ist Walton bei diesem Fall nicht der einzige Tote.

Un sans abri est renversé par une voiture. Il portait les vêtements d'un célèbre chirurgien esthétique, disparu trois mois plus tôt. D'autres vêtements lui appartenant sont retrouvés dans une benne à ordures. A proximité, Al découvre le cadavre du chirurgien. Près de lui, un bloc-notes publicitaire au nom de Chernov Construction, dirigé par Gregory Chernov. Parmi ses salariés, Carrie reconnaît Evan Charney, qui se trouvait sur le lieu de l'accident. Partis l'interroger, Jay et Dany découvrent son cadavre, et au sous-sol, un lit équipé de chaînes. Les agents comprennent qu'ils sont face à une affaire sordide...
