Stardate: 41209.2. The crew of the Enterprise are infected with a virus contracted by the away team while they were investigating the mysterious deaths of the entire crew of the Starship Tsilkovsky.

Die Enterprise ist auf dem Weg zur U.S.S. Tsiolkovski, um deren Zustand zu untersuchen. Nachdem sie dort angekommen sind, wird ein Landetrupp auf die Tsiolkovski gebeamt. Man erfährt, daß die gesamte Besatzung tot ist und von einer Krankheit, die wahnsinnig macht, befallen wurde. Niemand bemerkt, daß sich Geordi mit dieser Krankheit ansteckt. Der Virus breitet sich schnell auf der Enterprise aus. Er wirkt wie Alkohol und baut alle Hemmungen ab.
