Mavis überrascht ihren Vater Dracula mit einem Familienurlaub auf einer luxuriösen Monster-Kreuzfahrt, damit er auch einmal ausspannen kann und sich nicht nur um das Wohlbefinden der Gäste seines Hotels kümmern muss. Den Spaß können sich der Rest der Familie und die monströsen Freunde natürlich nicht entgehen lassen und schließen sich an, als der mysteriöse Kahn in See sticht. Dracula entdeckt eine längst begraben geglaubte Gefühlswelt in sich, als er Captain Ericka erblickt und sich Hals über Kopf in sie verliebt. Nun ist es an Mavis, skeptisch zu bleiben und ihren Vater zur Vorsicht zu mahnen – denn es scheint einfach zu gut, um wahr zu sein. Und ihr übervorsorglicher Instinkt trübt sie nicht, denn tatsächlich verbirgt sich hinter Ericka eine Nachfahrin von Monsterjäger und Familien-Erzfeind Van Helsing…
