The remnants of an alien ship and two frozen cybernetic bodies are uncovered in the arctic by a research team. These aliens soon thaw out and flee Earth, taking the research team with them. Starfleet orders Enterprise to find them, but the crew aren't prepared for just how dangerous these aliens really are.

Ein Forscherteam findet in der Arktis die Überreste eines außerirdischen Raumschiffes und daneben auch die Körper von zwei kybernetisch verbesserten Humanoiden. Nachdem man diese Körper aufgetaut hat, erwachen sie zu Leben und entführen die Wissenschaftler. Als die Enterprise zu Hilfe gerufen wird, erkennen Archer und seine Crew schnell, dass sie es hier mit einem unnachgiebigen und hinterhältigem Gegner zu tun haben.

Les Borgs réveillés repartent alors dans l'espace et assimilent un autre vaisseau. L'Enterprise, alerté par la Terre, les intercepte mais c'est Phlox qui se fait alors assimiler.
