When a familiar villain returns to terrorize Central City, Ralph must rise up to defend the innocent while Barry is detained by his trial. Meanwhile, Barry searches for the strength to keep his optimism alive in the face of his new circumstances.

Barry ist nach seiner Verurteilung im Gefängnis und macht dort Bekanntschaft mit Axel Walker, der sich Trickster nennt und einst Barrys Vater entführt hat. Kurz darauf bricht Axel mithilfe seiner Mutter aus und bedroht die gesamte Stadt. Ralph ist derweil ein fester Bestandteil des Teams geworden, braucht allerdings noch einen Respekt einflößenden Namen.
