Stardate: 43205.6. While investigating an ancient ship left adrift in space, the Enterprise accidentally trips the ancient booby trap that disabled the old vessel over 1000 years ago.

Die Enterprise wird in einem futuristischen Minenfeld gefangen, daß dem Schiff Energie entzieht. Geordi muß eine Fluchtmöglichkeit finden. Er benutzt die holographische Hilfe der Schiffskonstrukteurin Dr. Leah Brahms, indem er sie und die Baupläne der Enterprise auf dem Holodeck erschafft.
