Danny and Mac investigate after a briefcase belonging to Luke Sutton is found left in the NYMEX with a bloody note inside. Their investigation into Sutton's activities lead them to Nick Lawson, whom Sutton had been investigating for illegal trades, but who swears he had nothing to do with his disappearance. Stella and Flack investigate the death of Trina Rolston, a young pregnant women who fell to her death from the roof of a church. With Hawkes help, Stella realises that the body was thrown off the roof to mask the true cause of death. The detectives soon realise that their two cases are connected.

Danny und Mac ermitteln, nachdem eine Aktentasche von Luke Sutton mit einer blutigen Notiz in der NYMEX gefunden wird. Ihre Ermittlungen zu Suttons Aktivitäten führen sie zu Nick Lawson, gegen den Sutton wegen illegaler Geschäfte ermittelt hatte, der aber schwört, nichts mit seinem Verschwinden zu tun zu haben. Stella und Flack untersuchen den Tod von Trina Rolston, einer jungen schwangeren Frau, die vom Dach einer Kirche in den Tod gestürzt ist. Mit Hawkes Hilfe findet Stella heraus, dass die Leiche vom Dach geworfen wurde, um die wahre Todesursache zu verschleiern. Die Detektive erkennen bald, dass ihre beiden Fälle miteinander verbunden sind.

Une mallette appartenant à Luke Sutton, un agent de change, est retrouvée abandonnée à la bourse de New York contenant une lettre signée de sa main et marquée de son sang. Le disparu est bientôt retrouvé, carbonisé au volant de sa voiture. Par ailleurs, Stella et Flack tentent à élucider la mort d'une jeune femme enceinte retrouvée morte dans un jardin derrière une église.
