Den beiden Gegenspielern Megamind und Megaman wurde der Kampfgeist schon in die Wiege gelegt. Von unterschiedlichen Planeten stammend, wurden beide von ihren Eltern ins All gefeuert, als es dort für die Kleinen zu gefährlich wurde. Viele Jahre später treibt Megamind als legendärer Superbösewicht auf der Erde sein Unwesen. Der einzige Grund, weshalb sein Plan, die Stadt Metro City zu erobern, bislang noch nicht aufgegangen ist, ist eben sein Erzrivale Megaman, denn der maskierte Superheld konnte Megaminds Vorhaben stets vereiteln. Doch eines Tages tappt Metroman doch in eine heimtückische Falle von Megamind und kommt dabei ums Leben.

Megamind est le super‐méchant le plus génial de toute l’histoire de l’humanité. Et le pire loser aussi… Depuis des années, il essaie par tous les moyens de conquérir Metro City. En vain : chacune de ses tentatives est mise en échec par l’invincible Metro Man, et tourne à la farce. Jusqu’au jour où Megamind tue Metro Man ! Mais un super‐méchant a besoin d’un superhéros pour se sentir exister et avoir un but dans la vie. Megamind a donc l’idée de se fabriquer un nouvel adversaire : Titan. Problème : Titan découvre vite que c’est bien plus drôle d’être un méchant que de protéger les hommes. Et encore plus amusant de détruire le monde que de le protéger… Pris au piège, Megamind réussira‐t‐il à vaincre sa diabolique création, devenant ainsi le héros inattendu de sa propre histoire ?

Megamind è un eroe "super cattivo" che ha ottenuto meno successi di chiunque altro. Negli anni Megamind ha cercato in ogni modo di conquistare la Terra, ma ogni suo tentativo si è trasformato in fallimento a causa del super-eroe mascherato "Metro Man". Tutto cambia il giorno in cui Megamind nel bel mezzo di uno dei suoi contorti piani malefici uccide accidentalmente Metro Man. Improvvisamente Megamind non ha più un vero scopo. Un supercattivo senza supereroe. Megamind si rende conto che raggiungere la sua ambizione più grande è in realtà la cosa peggiore che gli sia mai successa. Decide allora che l'unico modo per uscire da questa situazione è creare un nuovo eroe "Titan" più grande, migliore e più forte di quanto non lo sia mai stato Metro Man...
