Peter Stormare (August 27, 1953) was born in Arbrå, Gävleborgs län, Sweden. He is a Swedish film, stage, voice and television actor as well as a theatrical director, playwright and musician. He is perhaps best known for his roles as John Abruzzi in Prison Break and as Gaear Grimsrud, one of the two kidnappers in Fargo. Peter Stormare began his acting career at the Royal National Theatre of Sweden, performing for eleven years. In 1990 he became the Associate Artistic Director at the Tokyo Globe Theatre and directed productions of many Shakespeare plays, including "Hamlet". In 1993 he moved to New York, where he appeared in English productions. He continues to work in both the United States and his his homeland of Sweden. He resides in Los Angeles, California, USA, with his wife.

Peter Stormare (* 27. August 1953 in Kumla als Peter Ingvar Rolf Storm) ist ein schwedischer Schauspieler. Der in Arbrå in der Gemeinde Bollnäs in Schweden aufgewachsene Stormare begann seine Schauspielkarriere am Dramaten in Stockholm, zu dessen fester Besetzung er elf Jahre lang gehörte. In Schweden gehörte Stormare dem festen Ensemble des Regisseurs Ingmar Bergman an. 1990 nahm er einen leitenden Posten („Associate Artistic Director“) am Tokyo Globe Theatre an und machte sich durch verschiedene Shakespeare-Aufführungen wie Hamlet einen Namen. Drei Jahre später ging er nach New York und trat von da an hauptsächlich in englischsprachigen Produktionen auf. Markante Nebenrollen in Blockbustern wie Vergessene Welt: Jurassic Park, Armageddon – Das jüngste Gericht und Minority Report machten ein breites Publikum mit seinem Gesicht vertraut, besonders bekannt ist seine Darstellung in Fargo – Blutiger Schnee. 2005 lieferte er einen denkwürdigen Kurzauftritt als Luzifer im Mysterythriller Constantine. In Filmproduktionen verkörpert er öfter Russen. In Hitler – Aufstieg des Bösen spielte Stormare den SA-Chef Ernst Röhm. In der Fernsehserie Prison Break verkörperte er den Mafiaboss John Abruzzi. Er spielte auch in der Fernsehserie The Blacklist mit.
