Nach seinem Aufeinandertreffen mit den Avengers ist Peter Parker alias Spider-Man wieder zurück in New York, wo er bei seiner Tante May wohnt. Seitdem er mit bzw. gegen die anderen Helden kämpfte, fragt er sich, ob er mit seinen herausragenden Fähigkeiten nicht mehr machen sollte, als nur die freundliche Spinne aus der Nachbarschaft zu sein, die den einen oder anderen Einbruch verhindert und Taschendiebe stoppt. Doch daneben muss der von seinem neuen Mentor Tony Stark geförderte Jugendliche auch noch den Alltag auf die Reihe bekommen, den Alltag als Teenager an einer Highschool, wo er sich in Liz verguckt hat. Blöd, dass ausgerechnet in dieser Situation ein Bösewicht für Unruhe sorgt, der technisch bestens ausgestattet ist und von Rachedurst getrieben: der Vogelmann Vulture.

Galvanisé par son expérience avec les Avengers, Peter rentre chez lui auprès de sa tante May, sous l’œil attentif de son nouveau mentor, Tony Stark. Il s’efforce de reprendre sa vie d’avant, mais au fond de lui, Peter rêve de se prouver qu’il est plus que le sympathique super héros du quartier. L’apparition d’un nouvel ennemi, le Vautour, va mettre en danger tout ce qui compte pour lui...

Peter Parker non riesce a scrollarsi di dosso quanto sia stata incredibile la sua esperienza con gli Avengers in Captain America: Civil War, l'aver conosciuto Tony Stark e avere mantenuto con lui un rapporto speciale, tanto da avere un contatto diretto attraverso il suo assistente Happy Hogan e da aver ricevuto in dono un super-costume. Peter è così innamorato dell'idea di diventare un Avenger da lasciar scivolare in secondo piano anche la ragazza che gli fa battere il cuore, la bella Liz, per andare dietro ai criminali e mostrarsi pronto per la posizione in squadra.
