Als Mutant kann er verschiedene Stoffe mit Energie beladen und so mit seinem Samurai-Stahl jede Materie durchdringen. Wolverine entdeckt zum ersten Mal, dass es etwas gibt, das ihn verwundbar macht und stößt an seine körperlichen und emotionalen Grenzen. In einem seiner schwierigsten Kämpfe stellt er sich seiner eigenen Unsterblichkeit.
